In addition, we are the medicine overflow unit for patients with Cystic Fibrosis, so our population can be varied. You will see patients in varying stages of pre-and post-surgical care as well as medical co-morbidities.

O.R. Same Day Surgery Full Time Days – 2x10 / 1x8 hour shifts, Monday – Friday ! (between 6am - 8:30pm)   Our Same Day Program is a very busy 34-bed unit where patients are efficiently prepared for their surgery or procedures.  A typical day we care for 50-70 patients.  We also provide post anesthesia recovery care for those patients being discharged home the “same day” as their procedure.  On the main unit we serve patients from 15 years through adulthood and in our separate pedi periop program we care for patients 14 and under.  Within our department is a regional block program where patients receive sedation by our moderate sedation trained nurses while being administered a preoperative block before going into the OR for most commonly a joint replacement.  Preadmission Services that utilize our program include but are not limited to orthopedics, gynecology, plastics, ENT, vascular, urology, radiology, cardiology and thoracic surgery.     We are looking for experienced nurses that are team players and want to work in a busy 34 bed Same Day Surgery Program (SDP).  Shifts are 10 hours between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:30 pm.  Nurses must have current acute care hospital experience.  Critical Care experience and IV skills are a plus. Same Day Program consists of an energetic and enthusiastic group of professionals that are engaged in sharing their knowledge of perioperative services!

The ICN is a 30-bed Intensive Care Nursery caring for acutely ill and premature infants from all over the state of NH and parts of the state of VT.  The care we provide is patient and family centered, with the family encouraged to be present and participate in their baby’s care from the beginning.  They are considered part of the care team.   Nurses provide care to infants who are critically ill as well as convalescing with nurse to patient ratios that range from 1:1 to 1:3.  Primary nursing is encouraged and contributes to family satisfaction.  There are many opportunities for professional growth from participation in our unit based practice council and one of our many quality improvement projects.  In addition, there is a two person high risk neonatal transport team which includes an ICN RN who has been trained to provide this level of care along with a respiratory care practitioner.   The Clinical Nurse is an engaged and credentialed member of the Professional Nursing Organization and is responsible for autonomous practice directed by the professional tenets of practitioner, leader/decision maker, scientist and transferor. This unique Clinical Secretary role supports our Inpatient Birthing Pavilion. You will be supporting the unit with admitting and discharging patients, creating new medical records for babies, providing communication support to patients/families of admitted patients. We average approximately 1300 deliveries each year.  Approximately fifty-five percent of our patients are high-risk and are part of our Maternal Fetal Medicine service. We receive transports from all of New Hampshire, Southern Vermont, and occasionally Maine. We have a robust midwifery service along with a generalist physician service. We provide antepartum care, intrapartum care, postpartum care, normal newborn care, and focus care newborn care. We have a two-bed triage room in which we triage all of our own patients. Our unit includes two operating rooms (ORs) in which everyone is trained in perioperative care, i.e. circulating and scribing in the OR, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) services. We collaborate with many units in the organization including the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiovascular Critical Care (CVCC), and the Main Operating Room to provide highly specialized care to our pregnant and postpartum patients. The Intensive Care Nursery (ICN or NICU) is next door to us and we have a very close relationship with their team.
