Overview

The Anatomic Pathology Workflow Specialist I provides workflow support to the pathologists in a sub-specialty paradigm; they prepare materials for tumor boards, revise and posts pathology coverage schedules, and organizes materials for reference lab testing.

 

We are seeking a self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and demonstrate the ability to create effective and professional verbal and written communication.  The successful candidate must be flexible and adaptable to changing needs, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

 

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, benefitted day-shift position.

Responsibilities

  1. Transcribes dictation for the pathology reports as necessary.
  2. Assists with schedules, including but not limited, to the sub-specialty schedule and On-Call schedule.
  3. Prepares and organizes material for numerous tumor board conferences.
  4. Assists with the tracking, organization and packaging materials for reference lab testing
  5. Pulls or files slides and blocks for clinical and research use.
  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 6 months relevant experience required.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and demonstrate ability to create effectively professionalized verbal and written communication.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must possess a high level of computer literacy and demonstrate knowledge and expertise in using tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.) and Epic (Ed-H), Cerner Millennium and Leica Systems preferred
  • DH Yellowbelt certified within 1 year of hire – preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Must become DOT/IATA certified within 1 year of hire.
