The Department of Rehab Medicine seeks a full time Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient hand team. Be a part of a robust rehab team in a leading healthcare facility, and assist patients in developing, improving, and recovering the necessary skills needed to perform their daily activities after surgery, illness, or injury. Dartmouth Health is an academic health system serving patients across northern New England, providing the only Level I trauma center and the only air ambulance service (DHART) in New Hampshire. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is our primary location in Lebanon, NH, which includes a 486-bed hospital and clinic locations in the community (Heater Road). Lebanon and the neighboring town of Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley” which straddles the pristine Connecticut River, a national heritage river and includes 46 towns in western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. This local region boasts excellent local schools, a myriad of cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, as well as the Lebanon Opera House and Northern Stage in White River Junction, as well as an abundance of recreational opportunities. Amenities associated with urban areas in Boston MA, Burlington, VT and Montreal QC are all within a few hours’ drive.

The position is full time and benefitted. Hours are 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Monday to Friday.  Benefits include:  continuing education funds/days, membership to an online continuing education platform, formal mentorship, and opportunities to be a clinical instructor to students.

Responsibilities

  1. Examines, evaluates, determines prognosis, and provides intervention. Reports findings to other health care team members.
  2. Provides discharge recommendations, exercise programs, and family teaching.
  3. Participates in and supports departmental programs such as in-service education, student programs, volunteer/observation programs, Professional Practice Committee, etc.
  4. Provides documentation, billing, and record keeping. Participates in compliance audits.
  5. Coordinates the scheduling of patients and meetings.
  6. Delegates tasks to support personnel.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • New Hampshire licensure required
  • BLS certification required
