Overview

Healing Harvest is a program of the Dartmouth Cancer center which provides free groceries to cancer patients and their families. We are one of the largest oncology food support programs in the country and are thrilled to be bringing Healing Harvest services to patients at our St. Johnsbury location starting in fall 2026.

We are seeking a Program Assistant to work part time (4 hours per day, 3 days per week, weekdays only) at our new Healing Harvest location in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

The candidate will provide administrative and secretarial support to the program and staff. Assists in the overall functioning of the program and performs special projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates logistics of offered programs and services.
  2. Performs assigned tasks related to production and dissemination of information.
  3. Responsible for various info kiosks/bulletin boards in multiple locations/buildings and for supplying literature to departments upon request.
  4. Types and prepares (including proofreading) a wide variety of materials to include, but not be limited to, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, and handouts.
  5. Ensures accuracy and accessibility of information. Establishes and maintains program files and data bases.
  6. Assists in coordination of department programs, special events and/or classes.
  7. Gathers information for meetings, coordinates items for agenda, and distributes material to participants prior to meeting.
  8. Records and distributes minutes of meeting.
  9. Follows-up on details to ensure dissemination of information.
  10. Coordinates multiple daily appointments using Outlook and the patient scheduling system.
  11. Ensures notification of appointments for patients and clients.
  12. Acts as primary point of contact representing the health and wellness coaching program.
  13. Plans, coordinates and oversees projects and special events.
  14. Develops and implements activities based on defined project scope and objectives.
  15. Evaluates project effectiveness, enhances existing systems and recommends changes to policies and procedures.
  16. Sets and maintains schedules and timelines.
  17. Coordinates and arranges special events (conferences, retreats, etc.).
  18. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in with 1 year of applicable experience or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
