Epic Business Systems, Prelude Team

At the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, work collaboratively with all departments, and function independently in defining, troubleshooting, and solving software and system analysis assignments using established system analysis techniques.  Demonstrate advanced ability, integrity, and innovation in applying systems analysis techniques, knowledge, and experience to the needs of the organization.  Position will be responsible for build and maintenance in the Epic Prelude application and providing technical support for the registration/patient access operational groups and other end-users.  Works with Manager/Supervisor to develop work plans, and assists in recruitment, technical development and supervision of non-senior team members.  Ideal candidate would have Epic Prelude certification (primary); RTE/RTA certification would be a plus.   

Successful analysts are able to hold discussions of the concepts involved in system design (or issue investigation) while they are not actively working with or looking at the system or documentation, and make the technology understandable to others (e.g. analysts in other IS positions, end users or organizational leadership).

Ideal candidate with strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills desired.  Must be available for evening, weekend or on call hours if needed by department. 

1. Collaborates with business analysts, project leads, and IT teams to ensure service availability, prompt issue resolution, and solutions are viable and consistent with established organizational practices. Maintains project tracking information.



2. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the technical aspects of applications, as well as the operational details, work flows and how applications are used in the department.



3. Provides analysis and testing functions in support of new or upgraded vendor, in-house computing systems and special projects.



4. Participates in the development and follow-up evaluation of system design and process improvement projects. Makes recommendations for operational improvements.



5. Lead significant project(s) associated with the application with minimal oversight by their lead/supervisor/manager and demonstrates strong presentation and communication skills to operational project teams. Needs to be organized with tasks needed to solve technical problems and presents solutions to operations and IT teams.



6. Assists departments in applications system management function. Develops a system to ensure the effective maintenance of security for all applications supported.



7. Performs detailed analysis with end users to troubleshoot and resolve problems, develop new functionality within the application, improve workflows, and understand how applications are used within the department and how they interface or integrate to other DH systems.



8. Provides training and assistance to team members, and new employees in department.



9. On call rotation and some project work requiring off hours, weekend, and holidays.



10. Performs other duties as required or assigned

• Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of relevant work experience or the equivalent preferred.



• Must be self-directed, flexible, and have strong organizational, analytical, and self-motivational skills.



• Strong verbal, written, and listening skills are required to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and internal customers.



• Demonstrates work qualities of attention to detail and dependability.



• Ability to make decisions independently, but works within a team environment to provide support to department.



• Handles fluctuating workloads while working within deadlines.



• Project management skills are desired.



• For applicable positions: Has vendor application certification/proficiency or earns it within 12 months of hire (i.e. Epic application certification). Maintains certification/proficiency in accordance with vendor requirements.
