The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Endoscopy Department provides direct patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role supports physicians and registered nurses, ensures patient safety and comfort, and contributes to efficient procedural flow while maintaining high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including reviewing medical history, obtaining vital signs, and ensuring informed consent is complete.
- Assist physicians and RNs during procedures such as colonoscopies, EGDs, and other diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure for changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to the RN or physician.
- Provide post-procedure care, including patient education on recovery, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Maintain and prepare endoscopy equipment and procedure rooms, ensuring proper cleaning, disinfection, and readiness.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
- Accurately document patient care, procedures, and observations in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
- Respond effectively in emergency situations, including assisting with resuscitation efforts when necessary.
