Join our System Staffing Office as a Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) and enjoy the flexibility of working across multiple clinical settings—without the need to leave the region. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of patient populations, technologies, and care environments, all while maintaining the stability of a full-time, benefitted position.  We are seeking candidates who can adapt to different vendors’ equipment, and just-in-time training will be provided as needed.

 

We’re seeking experienced Radiologic Technologists with at least 2 years of experience who are adaptable, curious, and energized by variety.   Your ability to float allows you to earn premium pay while enjoying the stability and benefits of a full-time role—all while gaining the variety and diverse experiences of a travel technologist, without leaving your home region.

 

As a Radiologic Technologist System Float, you will float to Dartmouth Medical Hitchcock Center (a Level 1 Trauma Center) in Lebanon, and to at least four of our current D-H system hospitals below for deployments of 8 to 20 weeks:

    • Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH (required)
    • Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH
    • New London Hospital in New London, NH
    • Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH
    • Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT (VT licensure is required if this is a desired location)

The rate for this position is $52.00/hr.  Schedules and shifts vary by location but may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends, as well as 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts with shift differentials offered for nights ($8.00/hr) and weekends ($6.00/hr). More details will be discussed during the interview. 

 

For our full-time positions (30+ hours), we are offering a $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus.  *The bonus is for external hires only, and certain conditions apply.

 

The Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures that require advanced technical skills and an understanding of complex requests from specialized clinics. This role works in many different areas, providing coverage for Outpatients, Portables, Emergency Room, OR, Fluoroscopy, and Neuroradiology. The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic exams and procedures independently.

Responsibilities

  1. Operates the section’s imaging equipment while performing section procedures. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent clinical information. Transfers the patient to the imaging table, explains the procedure, and positions the patient according to protocol. Administers applicable contrast media as prescribed by the radiologist, orally, intravenously, via urethra, or rectum. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.
  2. Selects proper exposure technique and follows protocol throughout exam
  3. Reviews study for overall quality, illuminates any problems that were not part of the initial exam, and alerts the radiologist to further imaging instructions.
  4. Performs radiologic procedures requiring advanced technical skills and understanding of complicated requests from specialized clinics.
  5. Reviews studies for overall quality. Operates computers associated with imaging equipment used to produce, process, and optimize clinical data. Archive images onto appropriate media for the section involved.
  6. Performs quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care.
  7. Organizes daily work schedule and responds to emergencies.
  8. Instructs medical staff and oversees student technologists in the unit’s operation, as necessary.
  9. May be responsible for insertion of IVs, enema tips, or urologic catheter placement.
  10. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire as a radiographer upon hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist - Radiography RT(R) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) at hire.
  • BLS required at hire.
  • Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transport, and/or other computer systems unique to the specific imaging section.
  • Must be able and willing to work on-call, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts.
  • Licensed by the State of VT as a Radiologic Technologist upon hire.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH (MIRT1001) OR Temp Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH (MIRT1065)
  • Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R)
  • (BLS) Basic Life Support at hire
