Overview

The Advanced Imaging Radiology Supervisor oversees the day-to-day management of the Advanced Imaging Center (AIC).  They work with leadership to develop an administrative structure for allocating facility resources and bringing projects online. 

They develop and work toward short- and long-term (1+ year) objectives and goals for the center.  The AIC Supervisor collaborates with the College and Dartmouth Health (DH) leaders to plan the introduction of new imaging technology for research.  They develop and implement protocols and procedures for the transport and care of study subjects (human and animal) at the AIC, in compliance with institutional policy and regulatory guidelines, and provide guidance on these policies and procedures for the AIC.

 

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week day shift position.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Supervises and collaborates with personnel in the AIC and clinical MRI department: interview, hire, train, counsel, schedule, and use performance appraisals to evaluate staff.  Monitors productivity and ensures that quality assurance standards are met.  Ensures that staff are fully oriented and trained to perform their roles and provides ongoing opportunities for learning and job enhancement.
  2. Ensure that JCAHO, OSHA, Medicare, radiation safety, IRB, and other regulatory requirements are met in the center.
  3. Represents the AIC in meetings and in all other interactions and activities, both internal and external to the center and institution.
  4. Plans for, evaluates, and discusses new products and equipment with the Director and sales representatives.  Participates fully in the decision regarding acquisition, replacement, and maintenance of major equipment in conjunction with other interested parties and purchasing.  Participates fully in space design and development as necessary.
  5. Ensures that orientation and procedure manuals are updated and available.
  6. Collaborates with administrative and research staff in the development of new programs and procedures.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree with 3 years in the field (one year of which was in a leadership role) required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal skills by interacting professionally and appropriately with physicians, staff and administration.
  • Successful completion and graduate of an educational program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEA) as applicable.
  • Preferably hold advanced level certification(s) in specialty area(s) of responsibility/oversight.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • ARRT Registered MRI Technologist or ARMRIT MRI Certified and ARRT Registered Technologist Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
  • BLS required within 30 days.
