Overview

Responsible for the 3D reformatting procedures on CT and MRI acquired data.

 

This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

Responsibilities

  1. Selects proper protocol to obtain optimal post processed models.
  2. Evaluates models and sends to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  3. Maintains departmental 3D reformatting protocol documentation.
  4. Educates CT and MRI technologists who participate in 3D reformatting about the protocols and changes.
  5. Develops training programs.
  6. Creates, implements, supervises, and acts upon a QA/QC program specific to post processing.
  7. Ensures equipment failures are reported and documented.
  8. Performs multi-plane reconstruction and sends to PACS.
  9. Performs computerized tomography procedures.
  10. Reviews electronic medical record for patient history and pertinent information.
  11. Reviews protocol prescribed by radiologist and discusses for clarification.
  12. Transfers patient to scan room and positions patient.
  13. Administers contrast material according to radiologist prescription by means of an existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line.
  14. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.
  15. Selects proper technique/protocol to obtain optimal data; performs scan.
  16. Evaluates images and sends to PACS.
  17. Documents contrast in electronic medical record.
  18. Performs daily calibration check on equipment; cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures.
  19. Reports problems to Team Leader.
  20. Maintains equipment and supplies.
  21. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, with 1 year of experience required in CT and 3-D.
  • Knowledge of current practices and billing compliance.
  • Must be available to work on-call duties and/or work variable shifts.
  • Demonstrates competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the electronic medical record, radiology information system, and PACS.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Radiographer NH OR Radiation Therapist NH OR Medical Imaging/Rad Ther - NH
  • BLS within 30 days
  • Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R)
