Overview

Supervisor Outpatient Surgery Center, Nursing Operations

Supervises daily operations and patient flow within inpatient and outpatient surgical care units, including preoperative and postoperative areas. Oversees direct patient care to support both patients and staff, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and safe services. Acts as a clinical resource, role model, and liaison between teams to uphold policies, support continuous improvement, and align daily activities with long-term goals and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Leads and manages all daily operational activities within the pre-post area of the OSC, ensuring performance aligns with organizational standards and goals.
  2. Participates in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of support and clinical staff.
  3. Provides ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to staff across functions.
  4. Evaluates staffing models based on service demands and adjusts resource allocation to support efficient care delivery.
  5. Develops and maintains standardized policies, procedures, and operational workflows across programs and functions.
  6. Drives system optimization by identifying opportunities for efficiency and implementing approved changes.
  7. Monitors facilities, equipment, and operational readiness to support service coverage and safe work environments.
  8. Tracks and reports on program performance, financial outcomes, and strategic initiatives.
  9. Collaborates with departmental leadership to adjust plans in response to performance trends or organizational priorities.
  10. Identifies opportunities for cost reduction and revenue optimization.
  11. Champions a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice across all assigned areas.
  12. Ensures alignment with Joint Commission, OSHA, and other applicable state and federal standards.
  13. Implements quality assurance measures and process improvement initiatives.
  14. Collaborates with clinical leadership to monitor and improve patient experience, safety, and clinical quality metrics.
  15. Develops and implements new programs, systems, or methodologies to enhance service delivery.
  16. Acts as a leader and subject matter expert in continuous improvement initiatives
  17. Participates in institutional initiatives, committees, and interdepartmental projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. BSN, BA, BS) at time of hire, or degree expected within 36 months of hire. Supervisory and/or management experience preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain clinical competency within assigned unit.
  • Excellence in communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and change management abilities.
  • Demonstrated abilities with problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with physicians, administrators, clinical staff, and support personnel.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed RN with New Hampshire Eligibility
  • (BLS) Basic Life Support
  • (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 180 days
  • (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 180 days
