Overview

Coordinates and manages the New Hampshire Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) State Partnership program to ensure that the emergency care needs of children are well integrated throughout the entire continuum of care from illness and injury prevention to bystander care, dispatch, prehospital EMS, definitive hospital care, rehabilitation, and return to community.

Responsibilities

  1. Develops and maintains partnerships and collaboratives to improve pediatric emergency education, research, and patient care in New Hampshire.
  2. Serves as a liaison to departments and programs within NH to assure the integration of pediatric priorities into disaster planning, EMS education, injury prevention, and trauma system development.
  3. Works with the National EMSC Data Analysis Resource Center (NEDARC) and the EMSC National Resource Center (NRC) to collect data regarding pediatric emergency preparedness from NH hospitals and EMS agencies.
  4. Assesses emergency care needs of children within NH, utilizing state data sources, and identifies initiatives to improve the emergency care of children within the state.
  5. Collaborates with state governmental organizations, and organizations that impact pediatric health care policy in NH, to affect needed changes in pediatric emergency care policy.
  6. Ensures that EMSC performance measure program activities are on track and that implementation targets are met.
  7. Serves as liaison to the federal EMSC program, submitting required progress and status reports to the federal EMSC program and monitoring outcomes of all grant-funded activities.
  8. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience working in emergency care, pediatric care, public health, and/or public policy required


  • Provider-level experience as an emergency medical technician (EMT), paramedic or nurse in an emergency department is preferred


  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team


  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
