Greet and direct patients, visitors and others. Provide information to patients, staff, and visitors as appropriate.
Responsibilities
Greets, welcomes, and direct patients, visitors and staff in an appropriate manner. Monitors the entry and reception areas on a regular basis to provide assistance to those who need it.
Interacts with patients and visitors who may be experiencing stress in conjunction with the provision of health care at DHMC, and to refer to the appropriate resources if unable to resolve their inquiry.
Through a familiarity with the Medical Center, in particular all Clinic locations, provide directions or, if necessary, access additional materials. Maintains familiarity with key personnel in assigned areas.
Dispenses information within the realm of responsibility using telephone systems and/or computer information systems as appropriate.
Performs a variety of small clerical functions (mailings, etc.) as assigned, as time permits.
May provide assistance to patients to get in and out of wheelchairs and into cars as needed.
May push a patient who weights up to 250lbs in a wheelchair.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Public contact or customer service experience preferred
Previous computer experience desired
Previous knowledge of the local area preferred
Must enjoy working with the public, and display a courteous, cooperative, and mature manner since this role will often come in contact with individuals who are coping with their own or a loved one’s illness or concerns.
