The scope of this full time position includes assisting pediatric audiology providers with structuring the test environment during hearing assessment for young children including babies and children with special health needs. Additional responsibilities include rooming patients for all audiology providers, cleaning rooms in between patients, and a range of clerical duties.

 

Ideal candidates would have some experience working with small children, be able to work well as part of a team, have flexibility working with various providers, be able to receive feedback from providers in real time to modify the test session as needed depending on the child’s needs, and provide excellent customer service. Able to train the right person.

 

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assists audiologists during pediatric hearing evaluations requiring a two-tester paradigm.
  2. Cleans and maintains materials (e.g. toys) used in pediatric hearing testing.
  3. Assists in cleaning and maintaining clean and safe work areas (e.g. test booths, clinical exam rooms).
  4. Assists section in continuing to develop and maintain patient / departmental literature.
  5. Helps room and manage the overall flow of audiology patients in clinic, collaborates with the Audiologist team and Program Manager for Audiology to ensure the schedule and the daily operations run smoothly.
  6. Assists section scheduling/support staff in selected clerical tasks.
  7. Assists department in stocking supplies.
  8. Working knowledge of computer systems including eDH and Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, and Word).
  9. Completes specific assignments or procedures with minimal supervision.
  10. Plans and organizes work in a way that facilitates smooth operations of the section and Medical Center.
  11. Performs responsibilities within the Medical Center’s guidelines for service excellence and confidentiality.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate with 2 years of related experience in healthcare services or early childhood education desired.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environment with excellent organization, interpersonal communication, and prioritization skills required.
  • Knowledge of computer systems to includeOutlook and Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, and Word).
  • Knowledge of basic sign language a plus.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • (BLS) within 30 days
