Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's Department of Rehab Medicine is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will focus on providing exceptional care to patients in need of orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation in a vibrant outpatient clinic.

You will work alongside a team of dynamic and talented therapists, utilizing your skills to help patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries, surgeries, and sports-related conditions. Whether guiding individuals towards regaining their functional independence or assisting athletes in returning to peak performance, you will play a vital role in their rehabilitation journey.

 

As part of a large academic medical center, you will collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and personalized care for each patient. Additionally, our clinicians have the unique opportunity to participate in team-based integrative care in a variety of multidisciplinary settings, including Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinics, and as part of the Dartmouth College Sports Medicine Team, providing care to their Varsity Athletes.

Lebanon and the neighboring town of Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley” which straddles the Connecticut River, dividing western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. This local region boasts easy access to an abundance of recreational opportunities from skiing, hiking, trail running, mountain biking and cycling. It offers vibrant communities, excellent local schools, and a myriad of cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, as well as the Lebanon Opera House and Northern Stage in White River Junction. Amenities associated with urban areas in Boston MA, Burlington, VT and Montreal QC are all within a few hours’ drive.

 

This is for a full-time, benefited, outpatient position with an emphasis on Orthopedic and Sports physical therapy. However, we encourage you to apply if you are looking for an alternative schedule as we have historically been able to accommodate a variety of clinician schedules.

Responsibilities

  1. Evaluates, diagnoses, determines prognosis and provides high quality, personalized and evidence-based interventions for patients with neurologic conditions, healthy aging and general rehab needs.
  2. Reports findings to other health care team members through strong communication skills and use of electronic documentation and billing within Epic EMR.
  3. Promotes patients’ healthy lifestyle by improving strength, aerobic capacity, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
  4. Participates in and supports in-house education, Interdisciplinary ENT, neurology, geriatric meetings, student programs, volunteer/observation and community outreach programs, educating referring providers including residents and fellows.
  5. Works with a coordinated team of providers to provide comprehensive care for patients.
  6. Determines and implements annual plan for professional development.
  7. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree if graduate prior to 2002; minimum of Master's degree if graduating in 2002 or later;      preference for Doctorate degree or transitional Doctorate degree.

- ABPTS Board-certified neurologic clinical specialists or graduates of an accredited neurologic physical therapy  residency program are encouraged to apply.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed PT with NH eligibility
  • BLS
