The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiological exams and procedures independently and may supervise new hires and student technologists from three area colleges.

 

 

This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. 4 10-hour day shift. Can add to the req that we are a Monday- Friday clinic, no holidays, nights, or weekends

Retirement: Employee contributions are vested immediately. Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved—for a maximum match of 2% of pay.

Paid Time Off: Paid time off is accrued per pay period based on hours worked. This includes six paid holidays.

Shift Differential:10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable.

Responsibilities

  1. Operates the section’s imaging equipment while performing section procedures. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent clinical information. Transfers patient to imaging table, explains procedure and positions the patient according to protocol. Administers applicable contrast media as prescribed by the radiologist, orally, intravenously, via urethra or rectum. Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.
  2. Selects proper exposure technique and follows protocol throughout exam.
  3. Reviews study for overall quality, illuminates any problems which were not part of initial exam and alert Radiologist for further imaging instructions.
  4. Performs radiologic procedures requiring advanced technical skills and understanding of complicated requests from specialized clinics.
  5. Reviews studies for overall quality. Operates computers associated with imaging equipment used to produce, process, and optimize clinical data. Archives images onto appropriate media for the section involved.
  6. Performs quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care.
  7. Organizes daily work schedule and responds to emergencies.
  8. Instructs medical staff and oversees student technologists in unit’s operation, as necessary.
  9. Maintains a second professional registry to remain compliant with section certifications and Federal inspections if required.
  10. May be responsible for Insertion of IVs, enema tips or urologic catheter placement.
  11. Mentors students and orients Medical Imagers to the many sections of Diagnostic Radiology:
  12. Upon completion of orientation, Medical Imager is responsible for the following:
  13. Fluoroscopy to include:
  14. MSK, Neuro procedures, GI/GU
  15. Portable imaging in:
  16. all intensive care units as well as PICU/ICN,
  17. OR
  18. both main campus and OSC
  19. O-arm
  20. ED to include Trauma response
  21. May be responsible for performing DXA exams
  22. Highly specialized orthopedic protocols
  23. Outpatient Imaging
  24. Must maintain proficiency in all Code designations and appropriate responses
  25. Specialized imaging for suspected child abuse studies and fetal demise
  26. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved allied health program specific to the modality employed.
  • Must be able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transport, and/or other computer systems unique to the specific imaging section.
  • Must be able and willing to work: on-call, weekends, holidays and variable shifts.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiologic Technologist - Radiography (RT - R). Professional registry for modality employed is required.
  • BLS required within 30 days.
  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
