Overview

Responsible to coordinate activities surrounding the quality program within the solid-organ transplant program. Develops and implements quality system measures of key activities with the transplant program for purposes of maintaining regulatory compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS).

Responsibilities

  1. Maintains CMC and UNOS program compliance by identifying and communicating required regulations and compliance.
  2. Coordinates the program’s quality assurance/process improvement program. Collects and reviews program data on a regular basis and makes decisions/ recommendations to leadership regarding program improvements.
  3. Prepares and reports out on program quality and volume metrics from UNOS and SRTR (Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients) to leadership, regulatory agencies and insurance payers as required.
  4. Collects and analyzes program and patient data for maintaining quality measures.
  5. Prepares and maintains the program’s quality measures scorecard and dashboard.
  6. Participates and takes minutes in committee meetings.
  7. Maintains team time studies of pre- and post - transplant activities and reports to CMS as required for cost report reimbursement.
  8. Maintains required reports and documentation required by CMS for program audits.
  9. Assists with documentation completion through record audits and verifying UNOS submission data.
  10. Participates in program’s strategic and operational planning meetings/processes and process improvement activities.
  11. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in health care, management or related field or the equivalent required.


  • 5 years of experience in a Solid Organ Transplant environment preferred.
