Overview

Manages operational and administrative aspects of patient care for Hampstead Hospital and Residential Treatment Facility (HHRTF), including, but limited to, providing clinical oversight and supervision to all direct care staff. Monitors HHRTF policies, makes recommendations, and implements strategies in accordance with the hospital’s goals, and state and federal regulations and standards.

 

This position is for our residential unit, East Acres (Kennedy unit). This unit provides the most intensive level of services within the NH Children's System of Care. To be successful as a residential counselor at East Acres, you should have excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities

  1. Provides administrative and operational oversight to all direct care staff at HHRTF and ensures adequate staffing for the provision of clinical services.
  2. Reviews and implements personnel actions for direct care staff, including hiring, promotions, disciplinary action, and performance evaluations to ensure provision of quality service and that program goals and guidelines are achieved.
  3. Directs the development of milieu programming initiatives, policies and procedures that are clinically based and in accordance with the HHRTF mission to ensure that the highest quality of patient-centered care is being provided.
  4. Evaluates programming for improved outcomes through quality assurance activities, including participating in quality assurance reviews. Implements program changes aligned with performance improvement projects.
  5. Assists in the development and maintenance of budget to maximize efficiency and resources while maintaining excellent patient care.
  6. Implements standardized program evaluation approaches, to include collecting, compiling, and analyzing program data to identify trends, strengths, and areas of need, and uses data to improve training and training outcomes.
  7. Identifies staff training needs, approves training requests and coordinates the provision of training strategies to enhance professional staff development, knowledge and work productivity.
  8. Interprets federal and state regulations when developing policies and procedures, educational objectives, program initiatives, and quality assurance and improvement activities.
  9. Ensures and maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies.Plans, develops and evaluates staff development programs, to include orientation, infection control procedures and protocols, and training programs.
  10. Demonstrate leadership ability through use of effective communication, problem solving and team building skills.
  11. Monitors, oversees, and directs the quality and appropriateness of all documentation to ensure compliance with all hospital standards applicable to nursing services.
  12. Attends leadership meetings and participates in hospital committees to provide collaboration and coordination of care across all disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in social work, psychology, counseling or a related behavioral science field.
  • Five years of experience in social work, clinical mental health counseling, or related field in a psychiatric in-patient or clinical environment, three years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerned with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience

OR

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in social work, psychology, counseling or a related behavioral science field.
  • Six years of experience in social work, clinical mental health counseling, or related field in a psychiatric in-patient or clinical environment, three years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerned with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Must Obtain BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)
  • Must Obtain CPI Certification (within 3 months of hire)
