The RELIEF trial (Reduced-dose onabotulinumtoxinA for treatment of urgency incontinence among older females) is a 4.25-year, 6-site, $6.6 million mixed methods randomized controlled trial awarded funding by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Our 6 external partner sites are experienced, well-established research centers in Urogynecology/Urology with dedicated staff, accustomed to participating in multi-center clinical trials. They are: University of Alabama – Birmingham, Oregon Health & Science University, Kaiser Permanente – San Diego, University of Texas Southwestern, University of Pittsburg and University of Nebraska - Omaha. To design and conduct this study, the research team is working with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, as well as representatives from patient advocacy, provider and social support organizations, and industry.
