Overview

Responsible for all stages and types of center initiatives from proposal development and definition of requirements, to project planning, activity and productivity reporting, project oversight, implementation and management thereof.

 

The Leyenaar Lab in the Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health is recruiting a Research Project Manager to support federally funded research focused on prenatal opioid exposure, adolescent mental health, suicide risk, and social determinants of health. We are seeking an individual with scientific manuscript and grant writing experience, either qualitative or quantitative data expertise (or both); experience engaging with adolescents and their caregivers will be an asset. Applicants can learn more about the research team at: https://sites.dartmouth.edu/leyenaarlab/

Responsibilities

  1. Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards for assigned projects.
  2. Leads Project Management Team sessions and reviews with Center staff and faculty, including all levels of management.
  3. Supervises research assistant, data collection and other staff assigned to project execution.
  4. Initiates and maintains liaison with Center management team and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
  5. Manages multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.
  6. Represents Center in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  7. Responsible for the oversight and management of resources allocated to your project.
  8. Establishes effective coordination and communications processes to report as a minimum, schedule, performance, costing, risks and mitigation strategies.
  9. Maintains and adheres to project deadlines, timelines, and deliverables.
  10. Compiles project status reports. Develops and writes project process and outcome reports.
  11. Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, presentation and communication skills; ability to foster a collaborative team environment; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to a diverse community.
  12. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Previous healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills with demonstrated skills to define scope and analyze complex, cross-functional problems and processes.
  • Basic knowledge in research evaluation design and descriptive statistics.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision making and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in scientific writing and presentations.
  • Must be skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
