Overview
Designs, implements and oversees EMS programs and related grants to make quality pre-hospital care available to citizens in the D-H catchment area.
Responsibilities
Develops continuing education curriculum and training opportunities for pre-hospital providers.
Implements continuous quality assessment and quality improvement programs.
Develops, implements, manages, and evaluates Center for Rural Emergency Services and Trauma (CREST) for EMS Network workflows.
Manages multiple workgroups to achieve program goals and objectives, including IS/IT workgroup, clinical curriculum workgroup, regional hub hospital teams, and community EMS advisors.
Develops and implements simulation curriculum, monthly case reviews, and didactic educational sessions.
Develops and implements competency assessment tools for pre-hospital providers.
Writes and produces content for EMS-focused education website and “Question of the Week” service.
Assists with establishment of CREST for EMS Network structure.
Orchestrates and manages the CREST for EMS Symposium.
Facilitates EMS research projects.
Develops funding sources and expansion plan for CREST for EMS Network.
Coordinates research, evaluation and policy analysis activities.
Creates deliverables for local, regional, and national EMS-related conferences.
Cultivates collaborative relationships and facilitates communication between, local and state EMS agencies, Emergency Department Staff, and D-H inpatient resources.
Assists in proposal preparation and submission of applications for grants and other funding opportunities. Coordinates post-award evaluation visits by grant-making organizations, provides and prepares reports on programs’ progress.
Ensures compliance with funding agencies’ policies and requirements.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree with 3 years of relevant clinical experience in the field of pre-hospital emergency care and experience in program management, quantitative research, evaluation, education or simulation; or the equivalent in education and experience required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated capabilities in developing collaborative approach to program development, establishing policies and procedures, and ability to support project evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical and educational leadership to staff, research partners, medical/health professional students and others.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Excellent planning, organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.
Some travel required.
Required Licensure/Certifications
NREMT Paramedic Certification, New Hampshire or Vermont Paramedic License
