Overview

$5,000 Sign on Bonus for eligible new hires.

 

Responsible for clinical duties such as taking vital signs,assisting in procedurers, fitting boots and ankle braces, giving injections, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. 

Responsibilities

    • Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedures and exams
    • Takes and records vital signs. Informs provider of patient vital signs and concerns.
    • Handles patient situations over the phone. Understands limitations in dealing with patients over the phone, and involves nursing staff and providers.
    • Assists providers with Injections and procedures.
    • Fitting DME, Braces, and heel lifts
    • Instructs patients in preparation for specific procedures.
    • Collects and processes routine laboratory specimen.
    • Operates and maintains clinical equipment
    • Maintains and uses aseptic technique including sterilization, disinfection and disposal of contaminated material.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned
    • Maintains and contributes to a collaborative professional and ethical work environment
    • Actively participates in team meetings and engages in the department process development
    • Maintain confidentiality, HIPPA and PHI compliance
    • Meets expectations for performance based on compliance with all departmental standards, policies, and procedures with training and education, attendance, adherence, and quality standards
    • Communicate appropriately and clearly with departmental management, co-workers and callers.
    • Performs point of care testing
    • Gives immunizations

     

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Previous experience in office or outpatient ambulatory care setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Computer skills strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in evening, weekend, and holiday coverage according to needs of the department.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • American Association Medical Assistants (AAMA) certified - CMA designation OR American Medical Technologists (AMT) registered – RMA designation OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plus 12 month D-H apprenticeship program – CCMA designation.
  • Current BLS certification required.
