Overview

Works with the flight paramedic and other medical crew members in the transport and care of critically ill or injured patients. Assesses, manages, and treats patients during air or ground transport.

Responsibilities

  1. Delivers nursing care in accordance with established standards of care.
  2. Completes and documents clinical rotations as outlined in Clinical Rotation requirements.
  3. Receives report from referring hospitals/agencies and gathers all relevant data.
  4. Provides patients with individualized care by evaluating effectiveness/outcome of care, recognizing significant changes in patient condition, and modifying care based on clinical presentation.
  5. Participates in shift safety briefings and debriefings. Communicates changes in road or air space conditions to crew members.
  6. Ensures operational readiness of assigned transport vehicle(s) and medical equipment.
  7. Serves as a clinical resource and participates in DHART Outreach and D-H educational functions.
  8. Precepts and guides new transport team.
  9. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications




  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.


  • 3 years of full time critical care/emergency nursing experience in the care of adult and pediatric patients.


  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as member of multi-disciplinary team.


  • Prior experience in tertiary ICU and ED, pre-hospital care experience, pediatric critical care experience, CCRN, CFRN, or CEN certification, NRP preferred.


  • Previous critical care transport experience and public speaking experience.


Required Licensure/Certifications




  • Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility


  • Eligible for unrestricted licensure in the State of NH.


  • Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.


  • Must possess a valid passport.
