Surgical Technologist II – Main OR 
(4x10 hour shifts)

 

Responsibilities

The OR with 26 spacious high-tech suites may be just what you're looking for. Both inpatient and outpatient procedures are done in these ORs, care is provided to patients of all age's neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatrics.

 

Job Responsibilities:

•Prepares Operating Room or pre-op/post-op rooms for patient care, anticipating needs based on pre-established O.R. schedule. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining supplies and equipment, maintaining anesthesia specialty carts, performing room clean-up using standards of OR infection prevention, etc. 
•To ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for Perioperative patients, maintains established par levels for all OR, pre-op/PACU, and anesthesia supply areas, and suture carts, performs daily calibrations on anesthesia laboratory equipment, ensures availability of O2 tank and regulator for safe transfer of patients, etc.
•Positions patients for the administration of regional anesthesia, participates in the positioning of patients for surgical procedures and in the transfer of patients to stretchers, beds, and/or operating room tables, assists in the transfer of patients to/from various patient care areas and participates in patient skin preparation.
•Escorts patient families from the Operating Room after the induction of anesthesia.
•Performs point of care laboratory testing.
•Performs assessment functions and routine patient care duties, communicates pertinent patient information to appropriate clinical staff, receives and escorts/transports patients, participates in quality assurance programs/data collection as requested screens and directs telephone calls to appropriate personnel, communicates detailed information to medical staff and families, and maintains clinical charts and flow sheets.
•Participates in continuing education, orientation, committees, and quality improvement activities.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

A graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or program accepted by the Association of Surgical Technologists required.

Required Licensure/Certifications

National certification as a surgical technician required.

BLS Certification

Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians
