The Robert Jeffery Student Fellow position includes clinical, educational, and research responsibilities. These include patient care activities within the scope of their clinical privileges commensurate with the level of training, attendance at educational sessions, timely completion of radiological interpretations, and other responsibilities as assigned or as required of all members of the medical staff.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of attending physicians, the general responsibilities of the Robert Jeffery Fellow may include:

  1. Performing draft interpretations of radiological images, including radiographs, CTs, MRIs, and ultrasounds
  2. Performing fluoroscopic procedures
  3. Assisting attendings and other providers with basic interventional procedures
  4. Mentoring medical students
  5. Developing and deploying education resources
  6. Assisting faculty with research projects
  7. Supervision and Evaluation - Instruction is provided by faculty with direct and ongoing feedback as well as formal evaluation at the end of each rotation.

Qualifications

  • Current student or graduate of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees. Some programs require successful passage of board exams (or good faith effort to pass) for promotion through subsequent years of fellowship.
  • Current student or graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees.
  • Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications:
  • Have a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates prior to appointment, or
  • Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are in training, and
  • Successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Medical student or graduate of a Medical School program per above minimum qualifications.
