Overview

The Benefits Analyst administers and analyzes employee benefit, leave, retirement, and wellness programs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives. The role supports data processing and reporting, manages vendor relationships, and provides expert guidance to employees and leaders regarding plan provisions, eligibility, and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Responsibilities

  1. Administers employee benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, wellness, and retirement programs, ensuring accurate enrollment, changes, and terminations within HR and benefits systems.
  2. Acts as lead on creating processes around benefit and leave data transactions with vendor platforms, reconciling deductions, premiums, and payments to ensure data accuracy and fiscal integrity.
  3. Assists with employee leaves of absence (including FMLA, ADA, parental, and other statutory or organizational leaves) in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and communication with employees and managers.
  4. Assists with the coordination of retirement plan administration, including eligibility tracking, contribution processing, plan audits, and employee education regarding savings and retirement options.
  5. Analyzes benefits data and utilization trends to identify cost drivers, recommend plan adjustments, and support leadership in strategic decision-making.
  6. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA, preparing related reports, filings, and communications as needed.
  7. Serves as a benefits resource for employees, managers, and HR partners by interpreting plan provisions, resolving complex benefit and leave issues, and ensuring responsive, confidential, and customer-focused support.
  8. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in benefits, leave administration, or HR operations, preferably in a healthcare or large multi-site organization.
  • Strong analytical and Excel/data processing abilities.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits administration platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of benefits and leave regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
